Green Jean

I love this product....
but recently I was informed that there may be some toxic things in these products. After doing some reading I am still unsure...and so is the FDA, there is an ingredient still under ongoing research...which happens to be tested on cute little bunnies and things. So I took it back....

Yes, you heard me...I took my most recent purchase and returned my beloved, expensive scents. My life really has been pointing to "being simplified" so I guess making my own soaps and things would have to be my next step. SO I made a mental list and decided I was going to make my own hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, air freshener, wall flowers, and all purpose cleaner! The reason I decided to make ALL of this is because you can actually do it for much cheaper. I decided I would make what I could and then purchase green from whatever I didn't like. I am not going to pretend any of this is my original idea so here are some links.
Homemade powdered laundry detergent I used a castile soap bar instead of fels naptha and I cut out the ivory bar. I had seen several recipes and was working with what I had :) I love this product and will not be switching anytime soon! It is a little strange that my clothes have NO scent, but I am looking for a green fabric softener and perhaps that will help. Dish Soap I am not going to lie to you. I pretty much hated this recipe. All of my glasses were foggy and it left a greasey feeling on all of my dishes. SO I am going with Seventh Generation for my dish soap and feel it is okay to spend a little more because of how much I am saving on my detergent :) Hand Soap This recipe is stinking wonderful! I used castile soap and tea tree oil with mine. AND it worked in my old foam pumps :) I love love love this recipe and am really excited to keep it. By the way I made 1/4 of the recipe it called for! It will probably last me five pump containers! Air Freshener This recipe turned out pretty good. HOWEVER I do feel like essential oils are a little on the pricey side and I feel like this recipe asks for a lot of it. I may mess around with potpourri instead and see which I like better. More to come! As for the wallflower and the all purpose cleaners-I have to finish up a couple products/ get to it! I will keep you posted!
