New Night Owl Shift and the Consumption of Micronutrients

WELL I am sorry I haven't blogged in a bit! It has been CRAZY PANTS around these parts! I feel like I am running around non-stop!

 SO here is my news....

I just got a new shift at work! I am SO super thankful for it! I will work midnights for three nights on the weekends. I get double the hours, a bit of a pay increase AND a set schedule. (I am such a schedule kinda gal.) The great thing is it leaves things like small group, worship practice, both services at church and any time my children are up and doing thing OPEN! God totally filled the desires of my heart on this one. He didn't have to. I was totally blessed just to have a job and He gave me even more :) I start this weekend!

Jamie and I have been juicing! We just completed our third week and I am not going to lie, it has been tough! We juice twice a day and eat a nice meal once a day. At first we lost a lot and now it is just coming off slow. I think we have thought of some ways to tweak it. Juicing is tricky because if you don't eat enough calories your body goes in to starvation mode and doesn't burn anything. Also if you compromise for just one day your weight will go up! I find myself totally reevaluating what I am going to eat, after all I can only eat once a day. So Wendy's is out of the question because they have one sandwich there that is worth my time. One. Great places to go are Chipotle and Chili's because they have low calorie, good, filling meals. Sometimes Jamie and I want to give up. Sometimes I get ticked because I just want cake! I still have an unsweetened tea with some splenda once in a while. Coffee has been cut back drastically! I went from two cups a day to one every other or third day. Diet soda's are pretty much out of the picture. If I feel like I am just starving, I sit down and eat a huge bowl of broccoli or beans or something green. Hey, it helps! The great part is we have more energy and we are so much aware of the 1500 calorie meals we were eating before. My favorite breakfast juice right now is a banana, an orange, spinach leaves, pineapple and half a lime. The vegetable juices are harder for me but I am trying! In the three weeks we have been juicing Jamie has lost 12 lbs and I have lost 11lbs! We will see what happens!

I will have to do post updates about the girls soon! Hope to be on here a little more (not much though because it is beautiful out!)

Until next time... :)
